speeder size!

We have had lot's of people in the shop over the last few weeks asking about the new Pyranha Speeder. We don't have it yet, but it should be here soon (ish) some info and specs from the men up north below.....

(The Big Mac "prototypeing")

Well after talking to a lot of people over the last few years we realised there were a lot of paddlers out there who wanted to cruise not ‘huck’, who wanted to eat miles not rocks and who often told us

“there are far more stretches of wild rivers without play waves than there are with!”

So we set about giving them a Pyranha boat too.

The Speeder was developed with these people in mind. It combines the swiftness of a thoroughbred river racer with the manoeuvrability of a much shorter kayak. The rear storage hatch allows for longer trips and camping and its dry ride is a breeze in reasonable rapids.

The rear wings give it excellent stability when leaned over and the neat heart rate monitor / GPS mount lets you see just how far you have come and how hard you are working. A kayak to meet the challenges of many wild and scenic rivers on longer trips or simply keeping fit out on the water.

Initial Pre Production stats are:

Length Width Volume Paddler range
Speeder 4.5m
14’ 7” 60cm
23 ½” 360Lts
95 Gal 55 to 120kgs
121 to 265lbs

The Speeders going to be a lot of fun on a lot of rivers. Nipping out for a paddle during lunchtime has just become a reality for a lot more people too
